Giveaway Winners + Chakoner Giveaway! *CLOSED* ~ Diane's Vintage Zest!

Giveaway Winners + Chakoner Giveaway! *CLOSED*

First of all, I have to mention that I recently had a ton of traffic to the Sunglasses Case Tutorial after someone submitted it to Craft Gossip.  In the last week, I had over 4,000 people look at just this one post.  I know that's nothing compared to the large blogs out there, but it's crazy for me!

Honestly, I started this blog with the intention of cataloging my sewing projects and food adventures for myself and two of my friends.  On my last blog, I had 64 posts and 11 pageviews.  This was back in college, when we put our info in our AIM profiles anyways.  So yeah, I wasn't expecting much from this venture.  :)

Thus, when I shared this pattern, I was thinking maybe 50 people at most would take a peek.  After about three days, it became my most viewed post.  Thanks to whomever submitted it!  It totally made my day!

Now, let's get down to business!  The lucky winners of the sunglasses cases are...

Congratulations!

And to everybody else who entered but did not win, you can make your own from my pattern.  I would love to see the results of what you all make!

Or even better, I have ANOTHER giveaway for you guys!

Remember when I posted about the Chakoner a few weeks ago?

Well, I had a few people ask me where I bought it because they were having no luck finding it on their own.

The answer is that I bought it from JSM Tailoring Tools.  They stock all sorts of sewing tools and notions, including the hard to find Chakoner!

FYI, Joyce of JSM Tailoring Tools is a busy gal!  She is working on an article for Threads magazine, updating the store website, and setting up a new course in everything you would ever want to know about pants!  That includes fitting, alterations, pattern adjustment, construction and design.  Luckily, she isn't too busy to keep the store running for all of us!

Discount

Here is the great news!  Joyce is extending a discount to my readers on her entire stock of items!

- Dates: It will be good for the entire month of April

- How much is the discount?: Approximately 10%, depending on the item.

- How do I get the discount?: Click on the American Sewing Guild (ASG) logo from the home page to see the discounted prices, and order from that special page.  If you are a current member of ASG, you have access to these discounted prices year round!

  3. Congrats Diane! love your case, the hard cases I've had are so bulky and the bags I've bought are always too flimsy. This is on my to-do list!

  4. I've never heard of Chakoner, but I'm fascinated. Marking pencils and tailor's chalk haven't worked that well for me, but I recently got a Frixion pen and so far that works great, unless I'm marking on dark fabric. Thank you for the post and giveaway!

  5. I've been keeping my eye out for one of these ever since you mentioned it in your last post! It seems perfect! I have a block of chalk that I use now and I hate it. A friend who's a legit clothing designer uses the block of chalk and told me it was the best, but I wish I had gone with something else. Ha, once I used a highlighter because it was a better marker and I knew it would wash out!

  6. I have been using water color pencils. But I just started sewing again after a long long break of 15 years. I have only used them for a few projects and haven't tested them to see if they wash out. I have only used them on the wrong side of fabrics so far. And haven't washed anything but I do plan to do a test before getting too crazy with them. But hopefully I will win the Chakoner and won't have to worry about it.
